Job Description:
Saab, Inc. is hiring a Lead Buyer-Commodity Professional as we expand our team to support multiple business areas across North America. This role will make an impact as a critical contributor to defense, security, and manufacturing programs by performing corporate procurement activities including, but not limited to, the following:
Develop competitive material proposals in support of new business development efforts
Perform cost/price factors analysis for cost reasonableness for pre-award and post-award actions
Negotiate price, deliveries, NDA’s, Agreements, and terms and conditions of purchased items
Identify and assist in the qualification of potential new suppliers
Manage large (tier 1) suppliers in execution of purchase orders
Develop, analyze and report on supply chain performance metrics
Provide procurement expertise and influence on cross-functional teams
Mentor and train Level 1, 2 and 3 Buyer-Commodity Professionals in completing daily tasks
Compensation Range: $94,800-$120,900
The compensation range provided is a general guideline. When extending an offer, Saab, Inc. considers factors including (but not limited to) the role and associated responsibilities, location, and market and business considerations, as well as the candidate's work experience, key skills, and education/training.
Skills and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in a business-related discipline (B.S. in Supply Chain Management preferred)
8+ years related experience
Required Skills:
Advanced knowledge and experience in Procurement/Supply Chain and Material Requirement Planning Systems
Experience negotiating multi-million-dollar agreements
Possess vast knowledge of Government contracting (to include FAR/DFARS) and key business processes.
Ability to perform cost/price factors for pre-award and post-award actions for cost reasonableness of purchases
Multiple commodity Material knowledge
Domestic or global expertise of assigned commodities
Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint).
